In the heart of the Côtes de Bourg, an area renowned for the quality of its vineyards, Château Bégot is a family estate located 45 minutes from Bordeaux and 10 minutes from Bourg-sur-Gironde. Nicknamed "the little Swiss of Gironde" because of the greenness of its surrounding landscapes, Bourg-sur-Gironde will welcome you in a rejuvenating environment at the crossroads of the Garonne and the Dordogne. Operated since 2019 by Joachim Haas, a young and passionate winegrower, this vineyard covers 18 hectares of which 14 hectares are under vine and benefits from an exceptional location on south-facing slopes.

Nestled in a green and hilly setting, Château Bégot and its limestone facade, typical of the Bordeaux region, offers you a real family home, on one level, with 4 carefully decorated bedrooms overlooking the vineyard, 2 bathrooms, a large equipped kitchen and a terrace with garden furniture. Château Bégot is also equipped to welcome groups and receptions, with its lounges, its equipped catering area, its tasting room and its cellar tours.

In the heart of the Côtes de Bourg, the south-facing vineyard feeds the rows of vines with different grape varieties such as merlot, cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc or malbec. This estate has been exploited for several generations and has preserved its old vines dating back to 1837, which allows the young winemaker to offer wines that combine tradition and modernity.

Joachim Haas loves his terroir, yellow gravel and clay-limestone, and makes it a point of honor to work in sustainable agriculture. The vines are mechanically weeded with a plough, with the sole aim of respecting the environment and the consumer. Château Bégot has obtained the green label HVE (High Environmental Value).

The côtes de Bourg

On the edge of the Gironde estuary, on a hilly land called "the little Switzerland of Gironde", the Côtes de Bourg appellation is characterized by a particular topography, a more favorable and less rainy climate than in the rest of the Bordeaux vineyard and clay-sand-limestone soils giving the wine its particular richness.This appellation gathers more than 400 producers in love with their soil and producing a delicious elixir fruit of a hard work.
